Portrait Artist
Cynthia Hargraves works as a full time portrait commission artist and part time art teacher. Cynthia gained national recognition for her Paintings in Portraiture in the published article by the Australian Artist Magazine in August 2006. Teaching Workshops, classes and numerous published articles since then have given her recognition for her work both in Australia and overseas. Her artwork has achieved prize winning awards and is held in private collections both in Australia and overseas. Some of her commissioned work has giving her the opportunity to provide commissioned work on the recent trilogy movie, Narnia.
Although her art has been influenced by many well known artists over many years her current work is more influenced by the tuition gained from world renowned American artists Sally Strand, Clayton J Beck III and the influence of Richard Schmid. Cynthia is a Master Pastellist with the Pastel Society of Australia and creates many of her portraits in Oils or Pastels. She has been represented by Lumiere Gallery in Perth and regularly exhibits her work in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. To view her work you can visit her main websites:

Mastering Flowers for vibrant effects in any medium of choice.A demonstration of various flowers will be followed by a detailed demonstration on one scene. Students will then work with guidance on developing their flower composition with emphasis on tone,edge,colour and shape. .

Exploring the Figure with drawing and pastels with Antonio Duarte.. This class will take you from drawing the figure, to working in 2 colours, then following on with a full colour palette. Qualifications of Art Teacher
Cynthia Hargraves has been tutoring art classes in Oxenford since 2003. She has a Bachelor Education and Diploma of Teaching and is a Master Pastellist with the Pastel Society of Australia. She has studied overseas with world renown Sally Strand and Clayton J Beck III ( taught by Richard Schmidt ). Cynthia teachers Art workshops both nationally and internationally. She is a blue card holder and registered teacher. Her paintings are sold worldwide and much of her work is done through commissions. Cynthia regularly exhibits her paintings and more information on her events and work can been seen from the artist page.
